Easy as apple pie

This MOPS group with these ladies, plus several others, changed my view on being a wife and a mother. I have said it before, and will likely say it again, if it weren't for them and the Word that grew in my heart, I would be a bitter and angry woman, a wretched beast of a person.

I took many things away from those meetings not the least of which was the easiest apple pie recipe ever! We made these at MOPS and then took them home to bake and bless our husbands, and it worked, Michael LOVED it.

The recipe has a ton of butter, which melts with the apple juice and the sugar when it is baking and makes the most delicious caramel-y, sticky, mess on the crust. Even discerning, apple pie connoisseurs have asked me for the recipe because it is so perfectly sweet and good! I hope you have the opportunity to make and enjoy it sometime!

MOPS Apple Pie
9" pie crust for top and bottom
4-5 apples
2T flour
1C sugar
dash of salt
dash of cinnamon
stick of butter

Get your bottom pie crust into the pie pan.

Cut up the apples and mix with all the other ingredients, except butter. Then pour into the pie crust. Cut the butter into small cubes and place them all over the top of the apple mixture. Arrange your top crust, make sure you vent it with a fork or cut out a design, and flute the edges. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 minutes, with the edges covered and 10 more minutes without.

Serve warm with ice cream!

I remember that day and those yummy pies :)

You are such a blessing and an inspiration. Thank you for your encouraging blog posts, I don't always get to read every one but I love the ones that I do. Can't wait until we are on the same continent, in the same time zone and maybe even in the same state! Miss you my friend.

Thank you for sharing the recipe. Apple pie is a favorite of the husband that lives here...I might have to run to the store and pick up some supplies. ☺ I especially love the picture of 'yum' circled.
