Laugh, Learn, Love: Theme of the Week Challenge

The theme this week is on helping your children get along. This is a tough one, isn't it? The only thing I can offer up is to encourage your kids when you find them doing something praiseworthy for the others. On the flip side when they say or do things that aren't kind or gentle we stop them, remind them of (my favorite) Philippians 2, "do nothing out of selfish ambition, consider others more important than yourself." (very loosely paraphrased) Then we practice what the right thing to do or say would be. BUT sometimes it feels like we do this about 10,000 times each day, and it feels like we aren't getting anywhere. AND I don't catch everything they do wrong, AND I am not 100% consistent, especially when tired, run down, "too busy," etc. There you go, now you know I am not perfect, please don't stop reading my blog.

I really have a desire to see my kids be friends with each other as they grow, post your ideas too and link to Laugh Learn Love, can't we all use the help and encouragement?

Oh, today is your birthday? HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! Thanks for the encouraging words on my blog about dad. I appreciate it. As far as your post goes....that is a tough one. My kids are 13, 14 & 10 so sometimes they want and try to kill one another. I remember that my brothers and I were the same way....we are very close now. Must be because every time my mom saw us fighting she made us hug, kiss and tell the other one we loved them (which at the time made me sick)lol- I try to encourage them to treat one another the way that they would like to be treated, I know that's a little cliche', but whatever works.
