8th Anniversary
Today is our 8th wedding anniversary! So much has happened in the last eight years, it is hard to believe our lives could've changed so much. We have lived in two different states, four different houses/apartments. Got a dog, and got rid of the dog. Had four kids, and kept all of those! Michael has been deployed or TDY 13 times. (For all of you that say I get pregnant every time Michael leaves, there is proof it isn't true, I don't have 13 kids!!) Michael switched jobs within the military once. I worked for the first 3 years and then started staying at home, that was a huge transition for us, and not as easy as I anticipated! I also went to school for the first 3 years, and dropped out when I got knocked up!! Michael went to school and got his bachelor's degree. We have worked with the high school youth group, the college group, the young marrieds group, taught an FPU course and are now running AWANA. Whew!
There might be some more major changes coming in the near future as Michael decides to stay in the military or get out. I have excitement and anxiety about either decision, and God is just walking me through the process of trusting Him. Michael is very slowly and very methodically making a decision, praying, seeking LOTS of wise council and that gives me a huge amount of encouragement...most of the time!!
Today I got to go shopping around town, gathering things for my crafty-to-do list. I will be posting projects when I get a new camera! Then Michael got off of work early and we took a nice nap together, went out to dinner, went camera shopping and then came home to watch some of the Olympics. We had a nice conversation over dinner about our favorite memories. His was the cruise we went on in 2005. Mine are from this last year or so, we have just really grown in our marriage and sort of "come into our own" so to speak. It was a lovely day. And I forgot to mention that the three older kids are at the grandparents house...so we did this all WITHOUT kids!!
The title of my blog "Who Would've Thought?" comes from the fact that 10 years ago, I was kind of rebellious. If you knew me then, and knew me now, you wouldn't believe I was the same person. Obviously I can only thank God for the changes in my heart, without Him it would be impossible. But He sent Michael to help me along the way, and I am so very thankful for him. Eight years later I am still amazed that he fell in love with me.
