Prayers for my family on Friday...

This post is going into both "Prayers for my Family" and the "Family Friday" categories this week. Surely you don't mind since it has been MONTHS since a post was added to either!

Today we went and measured how big the backyard would be according to the plot map that we got from our realtor. IT IS HUGE! Let's just stop here and thank God for granting me my #1 wish for a new home! Our kiddos will have so much space to run around in, and when we have friends over the backyard will be a great place to throw all of them so the moms can chat, and we can have a garden, and we can have trees (big trees someday!), and we can have a little wooden swing set, and we can have tires buried halfway under to run through, and we can have BBQ's on the patio, and we can have a picnic table, and we can eat outside, and we can do school outside, and we can do things to attract birds and butterflies, and my backyard list goes on and on!

We are thinking about grey stone on the bottom, dark grey paint, white trim and wood shakes with a wood door. There will only be stone 3 feet up on the center wall. And we want to add some faux beams to match the wood shakes in all the pointy parts.

The outside will be reversed to match the floor plan here.

This is how it will sit on our HUGE lot!

My prayer for our family (adapted from The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis):

Merciful Jesus, if you see it good, and allow it to be profitable for us, then grant that we may use this house to Your honor. But if you know it will be harmful to us, and of no profit to the health of our souls, take away any such desire from us. In His precious name we pray, Amen.

Good luck with everything. We just started to dig on our lot last week. Our footers and footings are poured. The forms for our basement walls were delivered today. It is all so exciting. I love your floor plan!

SOOOOO exciting!! I'm with you on big backyards!

Unfortunately, we got a big front yard and little backyard but our house is perfect and the 5000 acre park is SO close and I still have a big garden and I run with each dog twice a week and we still play in the small backyard every day so we manage.

But I know exactly how wonderful this is for you and I'm rejoicing along with you!!!
